Campaign #116 is for Harley Rouda in CA!
The 48th Congressional District in California is among the most high profile and intriguing races in the country. The seat is held by a 15-term (no, that’s not a typo!) incumbent named Dana Rohrabacher who Politico calls “Putin’s favorite congressman.” Despite his 30-year stranglehold on the district, his pro-Russia views have become increasingly unpopular in the era of Trump and he now finds himself deadlocked in a toss up with his Democratic challenger, Harley Rouda.

Rouda is a strong candidate with an impressive background. A former real estate executive who was a registered Republican for decades, he has a unique appreciation for the district’s conservative electorate. Nestled on the pristine strip of coastline in Southern California, CA-48 includes Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, two of the most expensive real estate markets in the world. Rouda is simultaneously appealing to the progressives in the district while skillfully wooing conservative voters who long for the days of ethical elected officials.
The Opponent
Although his opponent is best known for his outspoken fondness for Russia – in fact he’s the only sitting congressman whose name has appeared in indictments around the Mueller investigation – Rohrabacher has plenty of other baggage. In addition to his unwavering support of President Trump, he has an abysmal record on both immigration and the environment. And for good measure, last October he invited a Holocaust denier to Capitol Hill for a meeting with Senator Rand Paul.
With 30 years of the GOP establishment behind him, Rohrabacher is exceptionally well funded and well known throughout the district. With your help, we’re going to counteract that. We’ll let voters know why Rouda is the best choice to represent the people of the 48th Congressional District.
