Campaign 224 is for Sri Preston Kulkarni for Congress in TX

Our 224th Postcards to Voters campaign is in support of the son of an Indian immigrant father and a mother whose family descends from Sam Houston. Sri Preston Kulkarni is a former Foreign Service Officer who served fourteen years overseas in places like Iraq, Russia, and Jerusalem, and as a former Defense, Foreign Policy and Veteran Affairs Advisor to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) before deciding to leave the foreign service and return home to run for Congress in 2018.

The 22th Congressional District is one of the most diverse districts in the entire nation. With a population over 881K, and continuously growing, the campaign needs our help now to reach tens of thousands of voters quickly. In efforts to reach every voter where they are at, Sri campaigns in over 27 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Farsi, French, Gujarati, Hindi, Igbo, Korean, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepalese, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Telugu, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese, Yoruba, Konkani, Kannada, and other languages requested by constituencies. Sri is committed to inclusivity and making sure that every voice has a fair chance to be heard.
Historically, TX-22 has been a solid Republican district. For the first time in a long time we have the chance to finally turn Texas blue. Historically, TX-22 is a R+30 district. In 2018, Sri ran for Congress and lost by 4.9 points. In 2018, Beto lost the senate in TX-22 by 0.5 points. The campaign team and others who watch these sorts of things feel that the district has officially moved from a lean Republican district to a toss-up this year. If this district is going to turn blue, this is the year we can work together to make it happen.

As many of you may know, Texas is not a Red state. Texas is a non-voting state. Boosting the margins of voter participation with fun, friendly election reminders to Democratic voters could be the winning difference. This district WILL turn blue as long as we make sure the voices of Democrats down ballot and Sri’s are being heard.
