UPDATE: The address list for this campaign has been completed.
Campaign #196 is for Democrat Robert Prah, Jr. in PA
We are returning to Pennsylvania for a third Special Election in less than two weeks. After reading Rob’s bio, I wished he was running to be my own State Rep! Let me introduce him to you and explain why this district is on our radar.
About Rob
Rob’s 18-year career in the U.S. military gave him the experience to address concerns, find solutions, lead with integrity, and get things done. Currently an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, he is a former U.S. Army infantryman, infantry officer, and military intelligence officer.
He and his wife Carolyn live in Rostraver Township raising their daughter Madison. Carolyn is an active duty service member in the Army National Guard and also an Afghanistan Veteran. Rob is the son of a union steelworker and a local union president. He graduated from California University of Pennsylvania where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Legal Studies with a Homeland Security concentration.
In addition to being a volunteer firefighter (since 1999), Rob is an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is the Director of Military and Veterans Affairs at California University of Pennsylvania, providing support and guidance for active-duty service members, veterans and their families within the university setting.
You can read more about him on his web site www.PrahFor58.com, but you can already see how he will be an effective advocate for the voters in his district.
PA HD 58
Pennsylvania’s 58th State House District is in Westmoreland County. It had been represented by Democrats since the late 1960s through 2016. That’s when Trump won and Republican Justin Walsh flipped the seat.
The issues facing this district will sound familiar. What’s needed to really make positive gains is a Democrat like Rob. He’s been campaigning to champion the needs of working families.
He has lost friends, neighbors, and fellow veterans to the opioid epidemic. Which is why combating the epidemic is often the first thing he mentions on the campaign trail. Rob’s a proponent of public education and wants every child to receive a quality education regardless of zip code.
He wants to promote community healthcare centers in rural parts of the state. Rob can be counted upon to vigorously oppose so-called ‘paycheck protection’ and ‘right to work’ legislation. Standing up for working people’s rights to organize, and unions’ rights to negotiate pensions, fair wages, good benefits, and safe working conditions are values he learned from his parents (a steelworker and a registered nurse).
This may be a small list that will be finished in under two days. But, the lift you’ll be giving him to boost winning turnout will be huge. As every Democrat in the 58th starts getting your fun, friendly election reminders, buzz about #PrahFor58 will grow just in time.
Let’s help PA Dems make a strong showing and strengthen their habit of voting in 2020.
Write on! ~Tony The Democrat
