Campaign #134 is for Senator Heidi Heitkamp in ND
Heidi Heitkamp is facing a tough re-election campaign in North Dakota to keep a Senate seat that Democrats have held since 1960.
The Senator has spent her entire career fighting for working families, rural communities, Native Americans, women, and children. Her opponent has compared being disloyal to Trump to cheating on one’s wife. When talking about the #MeToo movement, he recently said to the New York Times “[my wife, daughters, and mother] cannot understand this movement toward victimization. They are pioneers of the prairie. These are tough people whose grandparents were tough and great-grandparents were tough.”
About Heidi
Heidi has fought for years to combat domestic violence and human trafficking in North Dakota. As North Dakota Attorney General, she helped implement the original Violence Against Women Act across the state. As a U.S. Senator, she has supported strengthening it to better protect Native women.
It should come as no surprise that Heidi also has fought to protect pensions, the ACA, social security, North Dakota farmers and ranchers, and veteran services. In the Senate, she has passionately fought for legislation to improve rural mail delivery, make rail cars and railways safer, to invest in flood protections projects and rural water systems, and to end the crisis of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women.
This list is being launched now because we have been asked to play an important role in this critical campaign to defend the seat. Without going into details that the opposition could use, the list is highly-targeted. It represents a successive priorities that support the team’s winning GOTV plan. I wish I could say more. The list incorporates some sharp strategy and I’m honored that they came to us for your help.
