Campaign #70 is for Aidan O’Connor Jr in New York!
We Democrats often agonize when Republicans go unchallenged cycle after cycle. New York’s 102nd State Assembly District 102 is one of those where no Democrat has run since 2012. This year, County Legislator and Certified Paramedic Aidan O’Connor Jr will fight the good fight.
When a Democrat last ran in 2012, the outcome was heavily lopsided giving the GOP a win in this upstate district. This district is one of 710 state legislative districts that intersects with one, or more, Pivot Counties. These 206 Pivot Counties voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016 after voting for Barack Obama (D) in 2008 and 2012.
Republicans outnumber registered Democrats by around 5,400 voters. As always, the key to winning is a combination of an energized Democratic base and a sullen Republican base. Let’s write to this highly-targeted list of Democrats and help this first responder to first place on April 24th.
