I’m a retired law professor. Politics and civil engagement are in my blood. I grew up in D.C. and my parents were both in the newspaper business. My political involvement has only grown due to my marriage (now of more than 30 years) to a fellow liberal Democrat.
I learned about Postcards to Voters in October 2017 from a friend. I INSTANTLY knew it was for me! I’m quite sociable but am at core a deep introvert. I’ve done phone banking and door-to-door canvasing and absolutely HATED both of them. When I turned 60, I gave myself permission to never do those things again.
In the months following the 2016 election, I was plunged into despair, and felt lost because I didn’t know how I could contribute to the Resistance.
I was still searching for my role in reclaiming the country I love when P2V came into my life. I have ZERO artistic ability, but that’s okay. I’ve written several thousand cards. I talk P2V up with friends and family; I actively promote P2V on Facebook and Twitter; I have frequent P2V parties – which feature every CONCEIVABLE flavor of M&Ms.
When the amazing Tony the Democrat said P2V needed some new volunteer administrators. I IMMEDIATELY raised my hand. I feel in the very core of my being that this is the work I was meant to do in my retirement.
In addition to hubby, my family consists of two grown kids, a beloved daughter-in-law, a fabulous grandson and a granddaughter on the way. I love knit and crochet, the movies, reading great classic literature, and watching sports of EVERY kind.
I am also one of the all-time champions on the game show “Jeopardy!”
